Today marked the first MSMS Scholars Brunch of the 2014-2015 school year. Top-performing 8th grade students from all teams were treated to brunch and received certificates commending them for their hard work from their homeroom teachers. Among those who spoke at the Brunch were Mr. Connors and two returning MSMS alumni who congratulated and encouraged students to be hardworking, academically outgoing, and socially active to prepare themselves for High School and beyond.

Among those who spoke to the 8th grade scholars were Burlington High School seniors Michaela Mazure and Thomas “T.J.” Horgan. As former MSMS students, T.J. and Michaela each prepared speeches for Marshall Simonds’ eighth graders, congratulating them on their awards and encouraging them to keep up their hard work. T.J. and Michaela also shared their own plans for the future with MSMS’ eighth graders, detailing their college application processes, acceptances, and plans for the future both in college and as professionals.
