Science: (Mrs. Gorham) – Next week the students will be reviewing for the test on Force and Motion. The test will be Friday June 3rd.

Social Studies: (Mr. Nelson) – This week we concluded section 3 on the Protestant Reformation and will be starting section 4 on Catholics and Protestants. We will also be going to Canobie Lake Park on Wednesday!!

Math: (Miss Mantia) – The Exponents test will be on Tuesday.  Students received a study guide in class on Friday.  After the Exponents test, we will begin our work with FOIL and Factoring.

ELA: (Mrs. Kotarakos)- This week students received a vocabulary chart for the last part of Fahrenheit 451.  The quiz for these words will be on Friday.  We will finish Part 2 of Fahrenheit 451 next Tuesday and move on to the last section of our book.  Finally, students will continue their oral book report presentations in class.  

Italian: (Mrs. Pescatore) – Students will be learning how to express past actions using verbs that take essere as the helping verb. The past participles agree with the gender and number of the subject of the verb (pages 249 – 253).

Spanish: (Ms. Mirabella) – Next week, students will be learning how to conjugate -ER and -IR verbs in the preterite tense. They will also begin their unit on Latin Dancing!

Spanish: (Sra. Abrams) – Spanish students will be learning the forms and placement of object pronouns in Chapter 9.

Spanish: (Señora Barkley) – Students will be finishing up the unit on Direct Object Pronouns and beginning to learn the irregular preterite forms of the verbs IR and SER.

Health: (Mrs. Fay) – Students are either finishing up the unit on harmful substances or starting the unit on human sexuality.  The human sexuality unit focuses on health functioning of the reproductive system.

Health: (Ms. Eovine) –  Students will continue the unit on human sexuality.  We will be finishing the male and female reproductive systems.

Science: (Mr. Marino) – Students will continue their unit on air pressure. There will be a lab report due within the next week or so. Students can check the blog for updates on how the report should be formatted.

ELA: (Mrs. Bergeron) – Students were given a grammar review packet on Wednesday to help them prepare for the last grammar test scheduled for 6/8.  The completed review packet is due this Tuesday.  We will continue to read “Flowers for Algernon” throughout the week, while studying the vocabulary words and reviewing for the grammar test.

Social Studies: (Mrs. DiSipio) – Next week, students will study the religious clashes in Europe and the spread of Catholicism and Protestantism.  Students should expect a quiz covering Chapter 17, Section 4.  They should use their vocabulary and presentation notes, as well as, reading from the text to help them prepare.  

Math: (Mr. Peterson) – This week, students completed sections 6.1 and 6.2 (inequalities).  We had a quiz on section 6.1 and 6.2 on Friday.  Next week, students will work on sections 6.3 (inequalities) and 6.4 (solving absolute value equations).

ELA: (Mrs. Nelson-Boyd) – Next week students will finish reading Fahrenheit 451.  We will review for a test Friday on the entire book (parts one, two, and three).

Social Studies: (Mrs. Volpe) – Next week we will be working on our Current Events Digital Poster Projects. Students have already done the research, now they will display it on their posters and present their information to the class.  

Math: (Mrs. Wilkes) – Next week we are studying how to simplify radicals as well as operations with radical expressions.  Students will be tested either late next week or early the following week.  

Science: (Mr. Hickman) – Next week, students will continue their study of force and motion with several experiments including the Corkscrew, Starblaster and Cannonball.

French: (Mme Pescatore) – Students will be studying contractions with “de” and how they are used, stressed pronouns in French, and other grammar points as we near the end of Lesson 23.

Latin: (Mr. Finnigan) – Due to field trips, the translation portion of the final exam has been moved to Thursday, 6/2. Since we will not meet next week before Thursday, students should make sure they are spending time studying on their own.
