New Teacher Spotlight: Ms. Pazdziorko

21 09 2016

This year, Marshall Simonds’ Bridge program has a new teacher, Ms. Padziorko. Ms. Pazdziorko was with us last year as as student teacher and instructional  assistant and we are thrilled to have her back as a full time teacher this year.

Ms. Pazdziorko had this to say about her background and hopes for the school year:

My name is Caitlin Pazdziorko and I am thrilled to have the opportunity to teach in the Bridge Program this year at Marshall Simonds Middle School.

I felt a calling to work with children since my own childhood; always babysitting and moving into a daycare teaching role in High School. In my undergraduate studies at Michigan State University (Go Spartans!), I was drawn to an area of early childhood education, which examines the role of the “family” in a child’s educational and social career. My degree from MSU is in Family Community Services with a focus on Early Childhood Education.

While working as a Pre-Kindergarten teacher at Bright Horizons, I started pursuing my Masters degree in Special Education, drawn by the knowledge that children with special needs have the same ability to learn; they may simply need to modify the techniques. I received my Masters of Science degree in Special Education, moderate disabilities from Bay Path University in 2016. I was fortunate to have begun working at Marshall Simonds for the 2015/16 school year. I was a Special Education Instructional Assistant in tandem with doing my practicum, and I know many of the returning students. Marshall Simonds has a great, supportive staff and I feel very fortunate to have the opportunity to continue my teaching career with this wonderful group as well as your children.

We’d like to welcome Ms. Pazdziorko back to MSMS and wish her a great year with the Bridge program!
