Science: (Mrs. Gorham) – Next week students will continue to work on Eating Elements and Compounds Lab. They will be graphing their results and review how to write a formal lab report. There will be a vocab quiz on Friday.

Social Studies: (Mr. Nelson) – After finishing our election foldable project, we started our next topic which is ancient China. Next week, we will continue chapter 12 section 1 “China Reunites” and have a quiz on the section at the end of the week.

Math: (Miss Mantia)- The multiplication/division of integers quiz was rescheduled for Tuesday.  After the quiz, students will learn like terms and distributive property.

ELA: (Mrs. Kotarakos)- Next week students will start research projects to learn more about the time period and setting for our novel, Roll of Thunder Hear My Cry. In addition, they will start to read the novel and complete questions and summaries for each section.  Finally, there will be a Verb test on Friday.  

Italian: (Mrs. Pescatore) – Students are learning how to use -ire verbs in sentences (pages 115 – 120). There will be a quiz on these verbs at the end of the week.

Spanish: (Ms. Mirabella) – Next week, we will be celebrating El Día de los Muertos (The Day of the Dead). We will discuss the traditions that correspond with this Mexican holiday, as well as watch a documentary. We will also explore other Mexican legends, including La Llorona (The Weeping Woman). Get ready for a culture filled week!

Spanish: (Sra. Abrams) – Spanish students will be completing an oral presentation on the family. We will also talk about El Día de los muertos (The Day of the Dead) as it coincides with the calendar next week.

Spanish: (Señora Barkley) – We will do some activities to celebrate El Día de los Muertos (the Day of the Dead) and then we will be learning the formula TENER + QUE + INFINITIVO.

Health: (Mrs. Fay) Students will consider many online situations for their bullying potential and determine what the online rule of behavior should be.

Science: (Mr. Marino) – Students will begin a new unit on density next week. They will be able to use an object’s mass and volume to calculate its density. We will then work with the equation so that they may solve for volume and mass.

ELA: (Mrs. Bergeron) – Students have to read chapter 6 and do the chapter 6 summary for Monday’s class.  They are also asked to include two important quotes from the chapter. We will complete our character bulletin boards next week as well as prepare for and take a unit test on chapters 1-6.

Math: (Mr. Peterson) :  This week, students finished section 2.7(dividing with variables) and 2.8 (probability).  Next week, we will have a quiz on sections 2.6-2.8, and we will begin chapter 3. his week in math, students comp  This week i

Latin: (Mr. Walsh) – Latin students have finished translating our first few stories in the textbook while focusing on the new vocabulary. They should expect a quiz in the middle of next week on our new vocab words.

Health: (Mrs. Fay) –  Students will consider many online situations for their bullying potential and determine what the online rule of behavior should be.

Science: (Ms. Byrne) – This week we studied chemical bonding, including covalent bonding and ionic bonding.  We also spent time on Lewis Dot Diagrams for representing chemical bonding.  Chemistry quiz is on Thursday, 10/27/16.  Next week we will continue with properties of matter, including viscosity and density.

ELA: (Mrs. Nelson-Boyd)– We will be reading the play Twelve Angry Men in class.  Students will be introduced to the background information including the justice system.  

We will also begin a new grammar unit on verbs.

Social Studies: (Mrs. Volpe) – Next week we will focus on Chinese Society. Students will learn how the Tang dynasty strengthened their economy by supporting farming and trade.

The students did a great job on their Presidential Debates.  We will be posting pictures on the school blog.

Math: (Mrs. Wilkes) – We have spent time on the distributive property learning how to distribute without “double signs”.  Next week students will be tested on Sections 2.5-2.7.  This includes multiplication of real numbers, the distributive property, and division of real numbers.

French: (Mme Pescatore) – French students will be studying in Lesson 17 how to describe people using some new nouns and adjectives.  There will be a vocabulary quiz at the end of the week.
