Marshall Simonds Students Participate in Hour of Code!

11 12 2016

Over the course of last week, students at MSMS participated in the annual Hour of Code, a global movement which aims to spur student interest in computer science and introduce them to the basics of coding. As a 1:1 district, BPS students across all grade levels participated in the many basic coding apps and games available both on the Hour of Code website and Coding apps such as LightbotScratch, Hopscotch, and Swift Playgrounds.

BPS has been participating in Hour of Code since it’s inception in 2013. The coding games and applications offered vary by grade level and allow students to learn the basics of coding through games before moving on to more complex programming. Upon completion of Hour of Code, students receive a Certificate from Code.org. Though Hour of Code week is over, students can participate year-round at Code.org!
