SCIENCE: (Mrs. Richardson D-103) Next week the students will be working in a new textbook that they just received called Changing Surface of the Earth.  We have learned that physical weathering changes the size of the rocks and chemical weathering dissolves the minerals and changes the chemical composition.  We will be demonstrating these 2 types through hands-on activities in class.  For one of the activities, your child will be able to have a piece of hard candy (we are sensitive to allergies and please feel free to contact me w/ any questions).  Students will view photos of erosional forces and create slides on their ipads and/or poster if they choose.  We will also be celebrating “Earth Day” which is April 22nd.  Your child will be creating a project for Earth Day.  A guideline will be sent home.
Reading: (D-103) We continue to read, Hoot.  We will be discussing symbolism in the book.  The students will also discuss the relationships between the characters and the fight for saving the owls.
