Science: (Mrs. Gorham) – Next week the students will take their Pressure Test. The Test will be on Wednesday.

Math: (Ms. Mantia) – Students will take their last test of the year next week.  Students are also reminded that there will be a final First Five collection.

Social Studies: (Mrs. Volpe) – Students will be having a chapter 17 test on Monday. They will also be presenting their Prezi projects on Tuesday and Wednesday.

ELA: (Mr. Pearl) – Next week, we will finish our short story unit. We will also have our cumulative grammar test. See weekly assignment sheet for details.

Italian: (Mrs. Pescatore) – Students will have their quiz on forming the past tense with verbs that have irregular past participles. Then they will learn how to express past tense with verbs that require essere as the helping verb and the agreement of the past participle with the subject of the sentence.

Spanish: (Ms. Mirabella) – Next week, students will begin a unit on Latin Dancing & Music. Students will watch a film exploring various types of latin dances and basic steps. Students will then try out some of these dances, including the salsa and merengue. Later in the week, students will learn about the life of the iconic Selena Quintanilla and her music, and begin watching, “Selena.”

Spanish: (Mrs. Abrams) –  Spanish students will be completing Chapter 9 with a listening and a written test.

Latin: (Mrs. Matthews) – On Wednesday, June 10, students will take their last Latin Test. The test covers chapter 19+20. Students should know the Vocative, Imperative, the different forms of hic, haec, hoc and the present active participle. In addition there will be question about the goddess Isis.

Health: (Mrs. Fay) –  Students will be learning about the male reproductive system, and then will have a short quiz.

Health: (Mrs. Eovine) – Students will be finishing the Human Sexuality unit.  The focus will be on STI’s (Sexually Transmitted Infections) Healthy behaviors, treatment and symptoms.

Math: (Mr. Peterson) – Students worked on section 5.1 and 5.2 (graphing linear equations) and had a quiz on these two sections on Friday.  Next week, we will continue chapter 5.

Science: (Mr. Marino)- Students will have a test on the unit on pressure Tuesday. It will include labs, homework, quizzes and classwork. Students should study over the weekend.

Social Studies: (Mrs. DiSipio) –Students will have a Chapter 17, Section 4 quiz on Tuesday.  Students should study their presentation notes and vocabulary notes to help them prepare.  We will continue our study of the Tudor Dynasty next week.  

ELA: (Mrs. Bergeron) – Students should be practicing their oral presentations on their independent reading books.  Presentations will be done in class on Monday.  There will be the last grammar test of the year on Tuesday.  Students were given a review packet two weeks ago, and we have spent time this week reviewing all parts of the test.  I will be after school on Monday for a final review before the test.

French: (Mme Abrams) – French students will be working with the verb “venir” and the preposition “de” used with articles (Lesson 23).

Health: (Mrs. Fay) –  Students will be learning about the male reproductive system, and then will have a short quiz.

Math: (Mrs. Wilkes) – Next week students will be tested on multiplying polynomials and

factoring x2+ bx + c.  Then we will begin looking at radical expressions.

Social Studies: (Mrs. Bova) – Students will learn how Catholics and Protestants fought each other, how Henry VIII created a Protestant church in England, and that Catholic kingdoms began sending missionaries overseas.  A quiz on Section 4 will be given towards the middle of the week, a binder check on Thursday, and a test on Chapter 17 on Monday June 15th.

Science: (Mr. Hickman) – Next week, students will be learning about projectile motion through the construction of a catapult.

ELA: (Mrs. Nelson-Boyd) – On Tuesday students will be taking the last grammar test.  Students received a review packet, and classes have reviewed for the test as well.  Next week students will continue to present their oral book analysis.
