Dear Parents,

As many of you know our first semester assessment exams will take place in January.  These assessments are given to not only determine your child’s academic growth, but also to help them develop study skills.  These exams will cover curriculum studied September through January.  Our goal is to help students master the organizational skills of preparing for large block testing of curriculum.  Assemesemts next month will be given in Math, ELA, Science and Social Studies.  Grade level departments will prepare the subject assessment together and all three teams will be giveing the same exams to their students. In administering the same exams it helps us measure the strengths and weaknesses of our curriculum and assure equal opportunity of learning on all three grade level teams.  The students will be given study guides prepared by their teachers to help assist them in preparing for their exams.  Below is listed the schedule for first semester assessment exams.  Any questions or concerns please contact your students teacher, guidance counselor or myself.

6B Book Tasting

8 12 2017

6B ELA - Mr. Conley

Students in my Reading class were treated to a Book Tasting. Students were given a chance to ‘sample’ up to five books that we are considering for our next novel. They completed a ‘menu’ where they shared their thoughts and feedback on their book samples. Thanks to Mrs. Gover for organizing and hosting!

Ms.Phillips artroom Blog

Every year I look forward to having 7th Grade students work on a pencil self portrait. I love the dedication and effort they put forward to ensure they look fantastic in their drawing . Students love to make time lapse videos of this assignment. The video begins with the first pencil mark to the last. Students are  truly amazed at what they have accomplished.
